The purpose of this website is to share the knowledge we have gained through the pursuit of our passion for clinical regional anesthesia and teaching. Regional anesthesia is an exciting branch of our speciality. The adoption of ultrasound technology has further enhanced our interes. Now we have the opportunity to visualize what we all know the anatomical basis for regional anesthesia.. Now regional anesthesia has eveolved into an exercise in applied ultrasonographic anatomy We hope to play our part in the individual growth of all practitioners and to improve the practice of regional anesthesia.

Through out this website we provide information, images and video that reflects accurately our practice here at the University of Western Ontario. We continue to strive to improve techniques, increase success rates and reduce complications. However the practice of perfect regional anesthesia continues to be a challenge. Following the directions and techniques provided here does not necessarily guarantee success nor eliminate complications. These are only suggested techniques as used by us. With dedication, knowledge, skill and confidence using these resources one should be able to provide patients the benefits of regional anesthesia and the safety of ultrasound guided regional anesthesia.
